XCOM is the most challenging game. It has no mercy at all 😅. I remember one mission where I rushed a decision and everything just went downhill very fast. That was when I realized that patience and planning is everything in that game. It forces you to think ahead. Honestly, not many games can test your brain like that again these days.

XCOM is a great choice. 😄 So many good memories of XCOM 2. My character getting mind controlled and killing my squad was certainly interesting.

For me, EU4 might be the hardest. There's just too much going on and I can't really keep track. Nor can I really see WHY things are happening.

Old World is the perfect difficulty for me. The AI is very competent and gives a real challenge. The events can mess you up. But you can always get better and have a satisfying game, even if you're losing.

XCOM is very challenging, no doubt, but people overhype it a little. Some of the “difficulty” is just bad luck disguised as strategy. You will lay your plans well, then RNG will just disgrace you 😅.
