Buildings firing back is completely fair. Imagine spending time building defenses and the enemy just strolls in freely. I actually enjoy games where bases can defend themselves to some extent. It adds life to the battlefield. Otherwise structures would just become expensive decorations waiting to explode. But some games overdo it. You’ll attack one base and suddenly every building is shooting lasers like Avengers movie. That one becomes annoying fast.

Bases defending themselves actually makes RTS battles feel alive. Imagine spending 30 minutes building defenses only for random enemy jeep to stroll inside freely. But some games overdo it honestly. I played one sci-fi RTS recently and every building was firing missiles like Avengers final battle. 🤣
