I always prioritize tech upgrades first. Better units with smart upgrades can destroy larger armies sometimes. I learned that after one embarrassing online match years ago. The guy had a smaller army but his upgrades were crazy. Still, timing matters a lot too. If you focus too much on tech without defense, aggressive players will punish you quickly. That balance is the real strategy. I think many new players underestimate upgrades because bigger army looks more intimidating. Meanwhile one upgraded tank can change everything. Honestly RTS games teach patience more than people realize.
. I learned this the hard way too. One guy destroyed my massive troops with smaller upgraded units and i just sat there staring. Upgrades is where experienced players separate themselves from the casuals.
