Tactical Speedbump
I was just checking one old RTS forum today and people were arguing about infinite resources again. Personally, limited resources make matches more intense. You actually have to think ahead instead of endlessly spamming units. Infinite resources can become boring after a while because there’s no pressure. Everybody just keeps building forever till the laptop starts lagging. But limited mines create tension and smarter decisions. The problem is when games make resources too scarce. One small mistake and you’re finished completely.
Everybody just keeps producing units forever till the laptop starts sounding like a generator. 
Limited resources bring proper tension and force smarter decisions. Once gold or minerals start reducing, every move matters more. That survival pressure actually makes victories sweeter.
