General Can someone compare Age of Empires IV to Total War for me?

Earlier today, I was watching gameplay comparisons between Age of Empires IV and Total War series. They don't really compete directly because their styles are different AoE IV focuses more on real-time base building and quick decisions, while Total War mixes turn-based campaign with real-time battles. For me, I think AoE IV feels more straightforward. So, it depends on what kind of control and pacing you enjoy honestly.

What's your take on this?

I disagree a little. AoE IV is not as “straightforward” as people claimed. That game can stress you more than Total War. Everything is so fast, one mistake can cost you a lot. Total War at least gives you breathing space to plan. I tried both back-to-back one weekend, I nearly lost my sanity .
