General Are turn-based games better than real-time strategy? Why or why not?

I just watched my entire base get rushed in Age of Empires. I prefer turn-based where i can play and chill at the same time, but I have heard a lot of people say "RTS is superior which I don't believe. I think both styles just bring different kind of feeling. Strategy games are not all about the race, they are supposed to be more of patience and careful steps.

Turn-based gives you the breathing space, RTS puts you under pressure. I remember the time my network lagged during a fast-paced match, everything just went downhill instantly. That’s when I appreciated slower formats more. Not everybody wants that constant rush. Sometimes you just want to think, not react like a machine.
