Paradox Interactive is expanding Crusader Kings III with Coronations, an event pack launching on September 9, 2025. It introduces coronations as a new in-game Activity, turning a ruler’s ascent to the throne into a stage for ceremony, scheming, and political manoeuvring.
A coronation isn’t just spectacle. Players can summon vassals to witness the event, but those same guests may plot, disrupt, or push faction demands under the cover of ceremony. The outcome can strengthen a ruler’s legitimacy or expose their weakness.
The event also brings royal oaths, which let rulers commit to specific goals for their reign. These oaths unlock decisions and rewards tied to the chosen direction. The coronation court itself becomes a pressure point where loyalty, rivalries, and faction intrigue play out in full view.
Coronations will be sold separately for $4.99 / £4.29 / €4.99. It is also included in the Crusader Kings III: Chapter IV expansion bundle.
